FAQ

Plain answers about free browsing, paid workflow, and how we use official SAM.gov data.

Is GovGazette free?

Yes. Open opportunity pages, hubs, reference explainers, and guides are free to browse. During beta, create a free account for one saved search and the First Contract readiness checklist at no charge for a limited time. Paid plans (Pro, Fit Briefs, Team) open for purchase soon — see /pricing for the ladder.

How is this different from SAM.gov?

SAM.gov is the official source of record. GovGazette bulk-imports official public data into our own index and publishes readable pages with hubs, deadlines, and internal links. Always open the official SAM notice before you spend real proposal effort. We are not affiliated with GSA or SAM.gov.

What do Pro, Fit Briefs, and Team include?

Pro ($49/mo) is unlimited saved searches, daily change-alert digests (queued), bid/no-bid triage with citations, CSV/JSON export, and the readiness checklist. Fit Briefs ($100/mo) adds one monitored profile lane and a weekly explainable shortlist (dashboard + email-ready). Team ($249/mo) is five seats, three lanes, webhooks, and priority support. During free beta, paid checkout is not open yet; see /pricing for the full matrix.

Do you guarantee awards or give legal advice?

No. Everything is intelligence and triage only — not legal, tax, or procurement counsel, and not a guarantee of eligibility or award. Unknowns stay unknown; we do not invent incumbents or FAR cites.

Where does the data come from?

Official bulk sources first — primarily SAM.gov Data Services CSV and Acquisition.gov lookups for NAICS/PSC/FAR. We index locally and serve from our database. We do not scrape unsupported SAM surfaces as the primary firehose.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes — when paid plans are available, manage or cancel from account billing settings. Access continues through the paid period. Free beta accounts need no card. We do not auto-send digests without approval workflows where noted.

What about agents / APIs?

Agents get free, rate-limited JSON on this site: GET /api/agent/search and GET /api/agent/opportunities/{notice_id} (same data as the human pages; no auth). See footer Agents links, /api/agent, and /llms.txt. Paid high-volume agent paths may use Stripe x402 later — not required for discovery.

How do I get started?

Browse /contracts or read /guides/first-government-contract. Create a free account (beta) when you want to save a search or track readiness. Paid upgrades open soon on /pricing.
