Privacy

GovGazette serves public government records and source citations. It is independent of the U.S. government.

Public research

Public reads require no GovGazette account. Requests pass through our hosting and network providers. We collect bounded usage aggregates and pseudonymous daily client counts to understand errors and successful tool use. Application analytics do not store raw IP addresses, full user-agent strings or search queries. Usage aggregates are retained for 90 days.

Website measurement

We use PostHog for anonymous browser usage and Google Analytics on public pages. Events contain page categories, browser and operating-system categories, and bounded campaign labels, not search text, workspace keys or form values. PostHog uses session storage; Google Analytics may use a first-party cookie lasting up to 90 days. Providers process connection metadata under their own privacy policies. We disable session replay, automatic click capture and advertising personalization. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control disable these browser analytics. Google Analytics is not loaded in private saved-search workspaces.

Saved searches

A private workspace stores your search names, criteria, matching records and recent change observations. A browser cookie can hold a workspace recovery key. You can also link a workspace to your GovGazette account and approve an assistant through OAuth. Keep recovery and feed keys private; anyone with a key can use the access it grants. Private feed links permit reading that search's changes. Regenerating a feed link revokes its predecessor.

Each search retains its latest 100 observations. Delete a search to remove its stored baseline and events, or delete the workspace in Saved searches to remove all its searches. GovGazette does not send email alerts in this release.

Optional feedback and replies

The private feedback form lets you share whether research helped, whether it was a real task or practice, and an optional comment. It does not upload worksheet notes. No account or email is needed. If you provide an email and separately allow a reply, GovGazette may contact you only about that feedback or your request for help. This is not marketing permission and does not send an automatic message.

Submitted feedback, email and the version and time of any contact permission are stored privately, separately from application analytics, and deleted from the active service after 30 days. Encrypted recovery backups may retain older copies. The form does not load PostHog or Google Analytics. Network providers still process connection metadata under their own policies. Do not submit credentials, private bid material or sensitive personal details.

Other AI services

Connecting an AI client sends your tool requests and returned public data through that provider. Its own privacy and retention terms apply. Do not include confidential bid material or credentials in public research requests.

Workspace keys are stored as hashes by GovGazette. A lost key cannot be recovered through email. Account-linked searches remain accessible through a connected assistant. You can review and disconnect assistants from your account. Public records may change at their official source; review source dates before relying on them.
