Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE Department of Veterans Affairs Atlanta VA Health Care System Diagnostic Medical Physics Services The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Atlanta VA Health Care System (AVAHCS), intends to award a firm fixed price sole-source contract for Diagnostic Medical Physics Services. This procurement will be made under the authority of FAR 13.106 1(b), which allows for soliciting from a single source when the contracting officer determines that only one source is reasonably available to meet the agency s requirements. The VA intends to award to Alliance Medical Physics LLC to provide qualified Board Certified Diagnostic Medical Physicist to perform periodic and annual performance testing, acceptance testing, protocol review, and consultation for diagnostic imaging and radiation emitting equipment at the AVAHCS and associated Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). These services are required to ensure compliance with Joint Commission, American College of Radiology (ACR) standards, Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) requirements, Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations, CRCPD guidelines, and manufacturer specifications. Scope of Work: The contractor shall provide diagnostic medical physics services for the following modalities: General Radiography Fluoroscopy Mobile Fluoroscopy Computed Tomography (including CT Simulation) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Dental (intraoral, panoramic, and CBCT) Nuclear Medicine and PET Mammography Radiation Oncology Linear Accelerators Bone Density Equipment Quantities: Fluoroscopy (12) General X Ray (7) Mobile Fluoroscopy (12) MRI (2) Dental (29) CT (6) Nuclear Medicine (2) Linear Accelerators (2) Mammography (2) Salient Characteristics / Minimum Requirements: All services must be performed by a Board Certified Medical Physicist qualified in CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Mammography, Dental, and Radiation Oncology. Testing must follow applicable ACR QC Manuals, MQSA requirements, NRC and CRCPD guidance, and all manufacturer specifications. Written physics reports must be submitted within 30 days of testing. Contractor must complete additional testing within 10 business days when requested for new or repaired equipment. Contractor must provide recommendations to improve image quality and reduce patient dose. Place of Performance: Atlanta VA Health Care System 1670 Clairmont Road Atlanta, GA 30033 and associated CBOCs. Period of Performance: Base Year: July 1, 2026 June 30, 2027 Option Years: Four (4) additional one-year option periods through June 30, 2031. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. No solicitation document is available, and telephone requests will not be accepted. Interested parties that believe they can provide the required services may submit a capability statement demonstrating their ability to meet the requirements listed above. The capability statement must be received no later than the date and time specified in this posting. Response shall be sent to darius.crane@va.gov. All responses shall include in the subject line of the email ATTENTION 36C24726Q0492 RADIATION TESTING . Responses received will be evaluated solely for determining whether a competitive procurement is warranted. If no responses are received that show the required capability, the Government intends to proceed with the sole-source award as authorized.
