This Privacy Policy describes how GovGazette (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use govgazette.com, related marketing pages, authenticated product features, free same-origin agent JSON endpoints under /api/agent, and communications we send.

This page is a practical product policy, not a substitute for legal advice. If your jurisdiction requires specific disclosures, consult counsel.

1. Information we collect

Account and contact data

  • Identity: email address, name, and authentication identifiers
  • Organization: account details you enter
  • Support: contact messages you send us

Billing data

  • Subscription status and plan IDs that Stripe processes. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

Product usage

  • Saved searches, readiness checklist answers, bid/no-bid inputs, and other account data you create
  • Approximate usage logs needed to operate and secure the service

Technical data

  • IP address, browser type, device details, and cookies or similar tools (see our Cookie Policy)
  • For free agent API requests: IP address and rate-limit metadata needed to operate and protect the service

Public government data

We draw opportunity and reference content from official public sources such as SAM.gov bulk extracts and Acquisition.gov lookups. That content is not personal data about you.

2. How we use information

  • Operate the product: provide, secure, and improve the website and signed-in features
  • Accounts: sign you in and apply plan limits
  • Billing: process subscriptions and send transactional email
  • Features you request: email digests, bid/no-bid results, and similar account outputs
  • Compliance: comply with law and prevent abuse

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Sharing

We share data only with:

  • Processors who help us run the product (hosting, database, auth, email, payments, analytics) under contractual obligations
  • Authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety
  • Successors in a merger or acquisition, with notice where required

4. Retention

We retain account and tool data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for backups, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. You may request deletion of account data subject to legal holds.

5. Security

We use TLS, access controls, and security tools from our service providers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

6. Your choices

  • Profile: update information in account settings
  • Billing: cancel subscriptions via the billing portal where available
  • Access or deletion: request via the contact form
  • Cookies: browser settings and our Cookie Policy

7. Children

GovGazette is directed at business users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

8. International users

We may process data in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. If you access the service from elsewhere, you consent to that processing as allowed by applicable law.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change, and material changes may be communicated in-product or by email when appropriate.
