Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is conducting market research to identify qualified sources capable of providing recurring preventive maintenance services for NIST-owned Komar industrial waste shredding equipment located at Building 301, 100 Bureau Drive, Gaithersburg, Maryland. The equipment includes a Komar Auger Compactor, serial number 3376, and a Komar Electro Shear Shredder, serial number 3535. The anticipated requirement is for a five-year agreement consisting of one 12-month base period and four 12-month option periods, with services expected to begin on or about October 1, 2026. This Sources Sought Notice is issued for market research and acquisition planning purposes only and is not a request for quote, request for proposal, or invitation for bid. NIST encourages responses from both small and large businesses with demonstrated experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial auger, shear shredding, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment. Interested vendors should review the attached notice for the full scope of work, performance requirements, deliverables, safety and security requirements, and response instructions.
