Description
Statement of Requirement (SOR) Title: Procurement and Installation of a New Automated Tissue Processor 1.0 Purpose The purpose of this Performance Work Statement (PWS) is to define the requirements for the procurement, delivery, installation, training, and initial support for a new automated tissue processor for the histology laboratory at Ralph H. Johnson VAHCS. This equipment is essential for processing human tissue specimens for diagnostic and research purposes. 2.0 Background The histology lab currently relies on outdated or inefficient tissue processing equipment. To meet increased workload, enhance diagnostic accuracy, and maintain regulatory compliance, a new, modern, automated tissue processor is required. This unit will support the timely and consistent processing of tissue specimens for paraffin embedding. 3.0 Scope of Work The contractor shall provide: Delivery of a new, fully automated tissue processor that meets the specifications outlined in Section 4.0. Onsite installation, calibration, and testing of the unit. End-user training for laboratory staff (minimum of [e.g., 5] individuals). Technical documentation including user manuals, maintenance guides, and warranty terms. Initial service support for a minimum period of [e.g., one year] post-installation. 4.0 Technical Requirements The tissue processor shall meet the following minimum specifications: Requirement Description Type Fully automated, enclosed tissue processor Capacity Minimum of [e.g., 200] tissue cassettes per run Reagent Stations Minimum [e.g., 12] stations with automatic reagent rotation Paraffin Reservoirs At least 2 with programmable melting/warming Interface Touchscreen display with user-friendly interface Safety Features Fume containment, leak detection, backup power mode Connectivity USB and/or network connectivity for data export Certifications UL, CE, or equivalent safety and quality certifications Dimensions Must fit within designated laboratory space (approx. 60in x 35in x 30in) Power Requirements Compatible with 120V/60Hz 5.0 Performance Requirements Task Performance Standard Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) Method of Surveillance Delivery Delivered within 60 days of contract award 100% on-time delivery Inspection upon receipt Installation Completed within 10 business days of delivery 100% complete and functional Onsite verification Training Provided within 3 days of installation 100% of identified staff trained Training sign-in and feedback Documentation Delivered with unit and electronically 100% accuracy and completeness Document review 6.0 Period of Performance The period of performance is from the date of contract award to 90 days, including delivery, installation, and training. 7.0 Place of Performance Ralph H. Remote and onsite technical support availability during business hours. Optional extended service agreement pricing to be included in the proposal.
