Description

The USAF Academy, 10th Contracting Squadron intends to award a single source purchase order, in accordance with RFO Subpart 13.101(b), Soliciting Competition, due to only one source being capable of supplying a musical instrument of a specific brand and model. The requirement is for the purchase of a Patterson Geyer - "R" Model horn Required Characteristics: -Custom-made, NOT factory-made -F/Bb Double horn -Geyer style wrap -0.468 inch bore -American shank -Dual F/Bb tubing spit valve -3rd Bb slide spit valve -Yellow Brass Body -Nickel Silver slide tubes in standard configuration -String linkages with articulated arm, NOT mechanical -Mechanical thumb lever, NOT piston -Medium bell flare size -Reversible thumb lever -All tapered sections seamed and hand hammered -Additional braces in specific places -Detachable bell This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes and no solicitation document exists for the requirement. Sources interested in responding to this notice are required to submit a capability statement that includes technical data, cost information and the earliest possible delivery date, in sufficient detail that clearly demonstrates the capability to meet all specifications of the requirement. All capability statements received by the due date of this notice will be considered by the Government. A request for additional documentation, or submissions that only ask questions will not be considered as an affirmative response. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement or to proceed with a sole source procurement. Capability statements are to be submitted by email ONLY as a Microsoft Word or Adobe .pdf attachment no later than June 25, 2026 at 4:00pm, to the following addresses; Fenton Fitzgerald, Contracting officer, at fenton.fitzgerald.2@us.af.mil
