Description

NOTICE OF DECISION TO CONTRACT WITH A SINGLE SOURCE: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, intends to award to a single source contract to Siemens Industry Software Inc., for the procurement of Biodynamics Siemens Madymo Software Subscription Licenses Modeling Software for Crash Simulation Maintenance Support. In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System Paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures. Siemens is the code developer, and sole distributor of Madymo license software and license rights. The rational basis for this sole source award to Siemens is Only Known Source. Siemens is the only vendor that can provide the maintenance / licenses renewals for Government entities. Without this contract for the software maintenance and technical support, services of our current Madymo Software licenses will not be updated with the most current software updates, which would provide ambiguous reports and data when CAMI is gathering information to report. The proposed principle North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 513210- Software Publishers, with a Size Standard of $47.0. This announcement is for informational purposes only, not a Solicitation/Request for Proposal. A competitive solicitation is not available for this procurement.
