This Sources Sought Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government at this time. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine interest and capability of Other than Small Businesses and/or Small Businesses, including VIP-Verified Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) or Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) prospective contractors relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 339112. Analyzer/Bertrand Lens Module Pol Abbe Condenser 0.85 Polarizer L ICT/P Whole-wave plate f. compensator slot Dust cover DML/Visoria/3000 Fluo/Photo Installation and set up of Microscope Salient Characteristics Leica DM2700 Brand Name or Equal: Must be a polarized light microscope (PLM) designed specifically for transmitted light asbestos analysis. Must have a trinocular optical head compatible with digital imaging systems. Must have strain free, infinity corrected optics with centerable objectives suitable for PLM (e.g., 4x 40x). Must include polarizer and analyzer with full 360 degree rotation. Must have a compensator slot compatible with first order red ( ) plates or equivalent retardation plates. Must include a high quality, centerable substage condenser capable of Köhler illumination. Must have a stable, adjustable intensity transmitted light LED or halogen illumination source. Must include a mechanical stage capable of smooth X Y travel and secure slide retention. Must have precise coarse and fine focus controls suitable for fiber morphology evaluation. Must allow for routine PLM calibration and alignment with low internal strain optical components. Place of Performance Equipment shall be delivered to the Captain James A. Lovell (FHCC) 3001 Green Bay Rd. North Chicago, IL 60064 Qualifications, capabilities, and experience for providing this product; Business size/Socioeconomic status; Memo or correspondence from manufacturer to distribute their products. This is not a Request for Proposal/Quote or an announcement of a solicitation and no solicitation package exists at this time. Responses will be used solely for market research purposes of the Government. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this notice and submissions will not be returned to the sender. VOSBs and SDVOSBs must be registered and verified in VIP for set-aside consideration. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this requirement is 339112 responses should be submitted by e-mail to Vernise L. Newton at vernise.newton@va.gov. The information requested must be received no later than 8:00 am Central Standard Time on 03/13/2026.
