Description
AFMETCAL at Heath OH intends to solicit and award a Sole Source modification to the current Low Background Infrared (LBIR) contract, held by Jung Research and Development Corp. (Cage 3JES1), to execute a bridge action for up to six months. This action is being taken as Jung Research and Development Corp(JRAD) was the only company identified as capable of meeting this requirement without substantial duplication of cost that could not be expected to be recovered through competition. Further, there would be unacceptable delays in fulfilling its requirements to the MDA and its mission if another contractor other than JRAD was used. This bridge action will be executed by modifying the current LBIR contract to add six (6) one-month options in accordance with FAR 52.217-9, Option to Extend the Term of the Contract. These options will only be exercised as needed to extend services long enough to solicit and award the new contract under solicitation FA226326R0001. There is no guarantee that any option will be exercised. The requirement is in accordance with the Statement of Work which is available for download at this site. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS OR QUOTATIONS. No solicitation package will be issued. A determination by the Government not to compete this action based on responses received is solely within the discretion of the Government. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by AFMETCAL. Interested sources must respond in writing with clear and convincing evidence to support their ability to provide the required items and services within fifteen (15) days of this publication. Interested parties should submit questions to Allen Kurella at allen.kurella@us.af.mil. Only electronic submissions will be reviewed.
