Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Regional Office Huntington West Virginia, 640 Fourth Avenue, Huntington WV 25701, intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price contract to SMITHS DETECTION INC. (UEI: FHKLJV1NP651 | CAGE Code: 23667), located at 2202 Lakeside Blvd, Edgewood, MD 21040-1102. The procurement is for a Maintenance Service Agreement associated with an X-Ray Machine manufactured by SMITHS DETECTION INC. for a period of performance of five years (Base + 4 Option Years). This action is being conducted under RFO Part 12. The statutory authority permitting the restriction to competition is RFO 12.102(a), such that only one source is available. The basis of the restriction to competition is the fact that only the manufacturer, SMITHS DETECTION INC., has the required proprietary diagnostic tools/software and trained personnel to sufficiently maintain the applicable X-Ray Machine. This is not a request for competitive offers, quotes, or capability statements. No solicitation will be posted as a result of this notice. This notice complies with RFO 5.101, Presolicitation notice.
