Description

Event: Real Time Parts Tracking Industry Day Sponsor: Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) Business Operations Division (BOD) Background: The United States Coast Guard (USCG), ALC is conducting market research to determine feasibility of receiving commercial contractor-furnished resources for the procurement of real time parts tracking. The current system is not Windows 10 compatible and is downloaded to the network at the conclusion of the workday. It utilizes a barcode scanner that up to four (4) artisans are using daily. Parts movement needs to be tracked between the manufacturing and repair facility on base to the various product lines and warehouse. The proposed system must be able to wirelessly transmit parts movement and locations to a centralized Windows 10 compatible web based platform that will be accessible from 40 users daily. The network connection on base for wireless devices is Wi-Fi based, but we would be open to cellular access also that does not connect directly to the Coast Guard network. We prefer a barcode scanner system as opposed to Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID) tags since our current parts inventory system utilizes barcoding. To facilitate planning, ALC will host an Industry Day, November 7th, 2018. The location will be USCG, ALC, Heavy Maintenance Facility, Training Room 4. The Industry Day will consist of a review of the USCG's minimum requirements and a question and answer period. Each company will be given 30 minutes to present their product to the USCG one-on-one. Although the Industry Day (site visit) is not required, it is strongly encouraged. The event is part of ALC's market research that will be used to identify potential solutions to ultimately determine an optimal sourcing strategy. Contractors must register to attend this event. Interested parties shall submit the attached registration questionnaire no later than October 31, 2018. Base access will not be granted without this information. Directions to USCG Base Elizabeth City can be found at http://www.uscg.mil/alc/directions. The applicable North American Industrial Classification Code (NAICS) 488190 and the small business is $32.5M.
