Description
This is a sources sought notice for market research to gain knowledge of potential sources, determine potential acquisition strategies, and to understand current market capabilities. This is not a solicitation and any requests for a solicitation will be ignored. Responses other than what is requested will be ignored. GENERAL SCOPE OF POTENTIAL REQUIREMENT This requirement involves the design, construction, installation, incidental work, and certification of a ship lift at Kuwait Naval Base (KNB). The ship lift shall coordinate with the existing rail transfer yard to provide a means to safely transport vessels from the water to locations throughout the drydock areas. In this manner, the components function as a fully-integrated system, where the ship lift moves a vessel vertically, and a tow vehicle moves a vessel horizontally as needed to transport it throughout the drydock area. The scope of the project includes the design and installation of a new ship lift (including but not limited to the structure, hoists, and capstans), structural improvements to the ship lift existing piers and piles and associated utility systems upgrades. The ship lift must seamlessly integrate with the existing transfer system. Additional Information: This project is for the Kuwait Ministry of Defence (KMOD). The place of performance is Kuwait Naval Base, Kuwait. The ability to perform work in Kuwait and obtain base access is required. The existing system at KNB was originally built by Pearlson Shiplift Corporation (PSC). The anticipated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this potential requirement is 237990 (Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction) with a small business size of $45M.
