THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This notice does NOT constitute a request for proposals, request for quote, or invitation for bid. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. We are seeking information for market research purposes only. The Government will not pay for any information solicited. INTRODUCTION: The Salisbury VA Medical Center/Health Care System (SVAHCS) has a new requirement for Large Bone Power Drill Set. This requirement is needed for Salisbury VA Medical Center (VAMC), Kernersville Health Care Center (HCC), and Charlotte Health Care Center (HCC). The VHA Network Contracting Office 6 (NCO 6) is conducting a market survey to find qualified vendors who can provide the following item: SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS: Large Bone Drills Must be Orthopedic rotary handpiece with dual trigger. The dual trigger rotary drill must be able to drill, ream, saw, and burr while delivering the torque necessary for heavy-duty reaming applications. Must have collet mechanism twist-lock collet ring that allows user to rotate left or right to quickly unlock, remove and snap in new attachment. Handpiece must have hermetically sealed components Must have as attachments: Dual trigger wire collet, small, 0.6-1.8mm Dual trigger pin collet, medium 2.0-3.2mm Small AO drill attachment ¼ drill chuck with key Hudson modified trinkle drill attachment Hudson modified trinkle reamer attachment ¼ reamer chuck with key Micro sagittal saw attachment Large lithium-ion battery Small lithium-ion battery System must use lithium-ion battery packs 13.2 V that can be sterilized before surgery. Must include lithium-ion battery charger with small footprint and rapid battery processing. Battery charger must meet dimensions. Width 16 Height 4 Depth 6.5 Weight 4 lbs. Must be able to charge 4 batteries at a time. Must have clear confirmation of charging level Dimensions height 15.0 cm, width 2.75 cm, depth 11.8 cm Mass 710 gm as single drill handpiece without battery Must have reaming torque of 153 in-lbs Must have drill speed of 1500 RPM Must have protection ratings of: IPX6, IPX8, IPX9 for cleaning and sterilization purposes Must have all characteristics in single drill handpiece Must include container sterilization. OBJECTIVE: Enable fast, secure attachment changes using the drill s proprietary twist collet ring mechanism, which allows left/right rotation to lock/unlock attachments for quick removal and re connection. Standardize powered instrumentation with 13.2 V sterilizable lithium ion battery packs for consistent power delivery and workflow flexibility (small and large battery options). The applicable North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this effort is 339112 with the Small Business Size Standard of 1,000 employees. If the Government determines there are qualified vendors with this requirement, a solicitation may be published and posted on the Contracting Opportunities website https://sam.gov/content/home . The Government will use this information solely to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy for this procurement. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the Government. Respondents to these Sources Sought shall provide the following information: Capability statement Name and address of company NAICS Code SAM.gov UEI number Business size (large, small, VOSB, or SDVOSB) Place of manufacture (if the requirement involves supplies) Identify applicable socioeconomic categories and any pertinent information which demonstrates the firm s ability to meet above requirement. An authorized distributor letter if the interested party is not the manufacturer Country of origin for all equipment. All responses shall be submitted no later than 12:00 PM EDT Friday 01 May 2026.
