Description
In accordance with FAR 5.705(b), notice is hereby given that this contract action was not awarded competitively. As detailed in the attached redacted Limited Sources Justification, this requirement was awarded on a sole-source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(B) and (iii)(B). The rationale for limiting sources is due to the substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition, as well as unacceptable delays in fulfilling critical agency requirements. Competing this effort would require a new vendor to duplicate significant prior investments in development and testing. This duplication of effort is neither cost-effective nor feasible for the Government. Therefore, limiting competition to the incumbent/identified source was necessary to meet mission requirements without incurring prohibitive costs or schedule delays. For further details, please refer to the attached redacted Justification and Approval (J&A) document posted in accordance with FAR 6.305.
