Description
This Request for Information (RFI) is for market research purposes only and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This RFI does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. The Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party�s expense. 1.0 INTRODUCTION The Department of Defense, Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), on behalf of the Department of War Office of Inspector General, is issuing this RFI to identify sources capable of providing the Modular Optic System (MOS) detailed in the specifications below. 2.0 BACKGROUND The Department of War Office of Inspector General requires red dot sights for handguns. The sights must meet the exact salient characteristics outlined in this RFI to ensure they meet the operational needs of the agency. The Government has determined that 3.0 REQUESTED INFORMATION/REQUIREMENTS The Government is seeking information on the availability of the following items. Similiar of like item to Airmpoint MOS Modular Optic System (MOS) for Sub-Compact Pistols AttributeSpecification Quantity180 Salient Characteristics Reticle: 3.5 MOA red dotBattery: CR2032 lithium coin cell Battery Life: Up to 50,000+ hours (constant on at setting 7) Brightness Settings: 12 levels (4 NV, 8 daylight) Weight: 1.7 oz (48 g) including batteryClear Aperture: 15 � 15 mm Housing Material: 7075 T6 aluminum with hardcoat anodized finish Submersible: 25 m / 82 ftMounting System: Aimpoint ACRO� interface Durability: Tested to withstand over 40,000 rounds of 9mm recoil Battery Access: Side access tray Must be able to be directly mounted to a sub-compact pistol 4.0 SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS Interested parties are requested to submit a response that includes the following: Company Information: Name, address, point of contact, phone number, email address, CAGE code, and small business size status. Capability Statement: A brief description of your company's capability to provide the exact specified product (e.g., proof of authorized reseller/distributor status for Aimpoint).
