Description

This Notice of Intent is provided to advise that the Government intends to solicit and negotiate a Sole Source, Firm-Fixed Price Single Award Contract with only one source, AMST- SMIT by Kentucky Trailer. This procurement is for the restoration, repair, and sanitization services to restore the CT Scan Trailer, by Kentucky Trailer, to manufacturer standards and are to be performed at VA Lee County Health Care Clinic. AMST SMIT is the only OEM authorized and OEM certified service provider for Kentucky Trailer mobile medical units, including CT, MRI, and PET/CT trailers. This action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of Revolutionary FAR Overhaul 12.102(b) and 41 USC §1901, only one will meet the Government s needs. Only one source is capable of responding due to the unique or specialized nature of the supplies and/or services. It is the Government s belief that the proposed candidate is the only authorized provider of the CT Scan Trailer Restoration Services that can meet the agency s needs. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the agency. This notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals, and no solicitation is available. Any response received will only be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in lieu of sole source contract described in this notice, and such determination shall be made at the sole discretion of the Government. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement as well as an authorized service provider letter. If no responses are received, the government will proceed with the Sole Source acquisition. Any response should be emailed to Cindy Smith at cindy.smith@va.gov by 10am Eastern Standard Time on April 30, 2026.
