Description

Pre-Solicitation Notice / Intent to Sole Source The purpose of this Pre-Solicitation Notice and Intent to Sole Source is to fulfill the requirements set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.101. In accordance with FAR 5.101(b)(2) pertaining to the use of other than full and open competition, publication of this notice is required when only one responsible source is available. Pursuant to FAR 5.101(c), the required content of this notice is detailed below: 1. Points of Contact Contracting Officer: 2d Lt Ljuan Benbow, ljuan.benbow.1@us.af.mil Contracting Specialist: SSgt Thomas Grove, thomas.grove.1@us.af.mil 2. Set-Asides No set-aside will be utilized for this contract. 3. Codes for Services/Supplies PSC: 5810 � Communications and Security Equipment Components NAICS: 334290 � Other Communications Equipment Manufacturing 4. Description The Puma DART is the only multi-channel, single-man-portable communications suite certified by the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) to meet the requirements for Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) missions. It is specifically designed to provide critical communications for airborne applications, featuring Satellite Communications (SATCOM), Integrated Communications Systems (ICS), and Line of Sight (LOS) capabilities. The DART system delivers 50 watts of RF power, an integrated SATCOM diplexer/combiner, and Low Noise Amplifiers for weak receive signals. Further product information can be found in the attached supporting documentation. 5. Timing This Pre-Solicitation Notice will remain posted for 8 calendar days. Although the Government has established that only one source can currently fulfill this requirement, the contracting office is providing ample posting time to encourage future competition, broaden industry participation, and notify small business concerns of potential prime contracting and subcontracting opportunities.
