Description

The 35th Contracting Squadron, Misawa Air Base, Japan intends to issue a single-source procurement action to Flightcom to provide 3 (three) 5-Uswer Wireless Headset Systems to the 14th Fighter Generation Squadron. Quantity 3 (three): Flightcom 5-User Comhub FCC ID V9N950325700V1 FLCPWS-5 / 5-User Wireless Headset System - includes: 5-FL657CF Wireless Headsets 1-FL505TCF ComHub + 1-420-0302-00, 7-ft tether cable 1-FLCC5 / Charging System Case 1-CCLP5 / Charger 1-114-0212-00 / Accessory Kit The proposed contract is for items for which the Government intends to solicit from only one source in accordance with (IAW) RFO 13.101(b) and RFO 6.103-1(d). This is a notice of intent to award a single source procurement action and is not a request for competitive proposals. The USG have documentation on file demonstrating that only one vendor can supply the needed assets. However, the Government will consider all proposals received within 7 days after the date of publication of this notice. Fightcom Corp, a division of Sonetics Corporation, manufactures headsets approved for use around conventional ordnance and and HERO SAFE nuclear weapons containing electrically initiated devices per attached memo from The Air Force Safety Center Weapons Safety Division (AFSEC/SEW) dated 20 January 2016. This memo states that the requested headsets are safe for use around HERO (Hazards of Electromagnetic Radiation to Ordinance) and SAFE nuclear weapons. Due to the determination by the Air Force Center Weapons Safety Division (AFSEC/SEW) the requirement for the use of FlightCom wireless headsets precludes the inclusion of any other products from other companies. Firms who want to challenge the single source must submit an interest letter that demonstrates your firms ability to provide an equivalent supply/service as described above. Interested parties must provide a rationale as to why they should be considered.
