Description
1.0 GENERAL The Government requires a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) wearable personal safety light. The device must be a single, integrated unit that provides illumination for both conspicuity and task-related functions. The item must meet all of the minimum salient characteristics listed below. 2.0 MINIMUM SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS The wearable personal safety light shall meet or exceed the following minimum technical specifications: 2.1 Illumination and Performance: Must provide 360-degree lighting for omnidirectional visibility. Must be visible from a distance of up to 5 miles in all directions. Must include a forward-facing work light. Must feature multiple user-selectable light color combinations, including but not limited to red, white, and blue, with up to 20 available color combinations. Must include special emergency light modes, including SOS and a flashing red/blue pattern. Must provide different brightness settings for the user to select. 2.2 User Controls: Must feature independent light controls, allowing the user to operate different light arrays (e.g., front and rear) separately. 2.3 Durability and Mounting: Must be waterproof, dustproof, and shockproof. Must feature a Quick & Secure Magnet Mounting System for attachment to various surfaces. Must include a hard mounting option with screws and a tether for additional security. 2.4 Power and Charging: Must be powered by a long-lasting rechargeable battery. Must support fast charging from empty to a full charge.
