Description
This is a Design-Build (DB) project for the Runway 7-25 (RW 7-25) infield area at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. The DB project includes a storm drain infiltration basin design and repair of the existing storm drain system, which currently experiences ponding water around the airfield. This ponding water becomes a bird attractant, which creates hazardous conditions for aircraft operating on RW 7-25. This infield drainage project will improve the drainage of the existing storm drain system and add infiltration basins to support a more efficient storm drain system. The project includes RW 7-25 infield drainage design, along with replacing existing catch basins, manholes, and storm drain pipes. Work also includes constructing infiltration basins, demolishing some underground storm drain pipes, as well as installing storm drain pipes, manholes, and replacing existing subgrade with more permeable materials, such as cobblestoneinfiltration material.Comply with applicable United Facilities Criteria (UFC) as well as applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) criteria, and additional codes and regulations, for drainage design and infiltration basin construction, installing storm drain pipes and manholes, placement of permeable materials, and demolishing underground storm drain pipes. This is a 2 Phase DB SRM project that is being competed as a 100% Small Business Set Aside using NAICS Code 237110. This will be a Best Value Trade Off Source Selection.
