Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Indian Health Service (IHS), Albuquerque Area Office (AAO), intends to award a sole source, firm-fixed-price contract to CDW Government LLC (UEI: 47QTCA21A0025) for the procurement of UNITRENDS hardware and software support services for the Jicarilla Service Unit (JSU), located in Dulce, NM. This requirement is a one-time purchase. No base period or option years will be established under this action. The estimated total value is below the Simplified Acquisition Threshold. This sole source action is being pursued in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The determination is supported by market research indicating CDW Government LLC is the only vendor capable of providing the required UNITRENDS support necessary to maintain continuity within the Governments existing environment. UNITRENDS appliances and software are currently deployed at the Jicarilla Service Unit to support data backup, system restoration, and disaster recovery operations. These services are essential to sustaining system availability, ensuring data integrity, and maintaining compliance with applicable continuity and security requirements. Any lapse in licensing or support would increase operational risk and may result in loss of vendor-supported functionality. Parties who believe they can meet this requirement must submit a capability statement demonstrating clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government, would not cause delays or increased cost, and would fully support the mission objectives of the agency. The determination to compete or not compete this procurement is solely at the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for determining whether a competitive procurement is appropriate. The Government is not responsible for any costs incurred in responding to this notice. This notice is not a solicitation or request for quote. Questions or comments regarding this Notice of Intent may be directed to Raelynn Ray, Contract Specialist, at raelynn.ray@ihs.gov. Please include the following in the subject line: Notice of Intent Questions Submission CDW GOVERNMENT LLC. The deadline for inquiries is 04/28/2026 by COB, 4:30 PM MST.
