Sources Sought Synopsis Only THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)/SOURCES SOUGHT/RFI IS ISSUED SOLELY FOR INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. THE SUBMISSION OF PRICING, CAPABILITIES FOR PLANNING PURPOSES, AND OTHER MARKET INFORMATION IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED AND ALLOWED UNDER THIS RFI IN ACCORDANCE WITH (IAW) FAR 15.201(e). The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (hubzone, 8(a), small, small disadvantage, veteran owned small business (VOSB), service-disabled veteran owned small business (SDVOSB), or large business relative to NAICS 339112 with size standards of 1000 employees. Note that if VA s pending market research establishes that two or more VOSB or SDVOSB, who are certified in U.S Small Business Administration site https://www.sba.gov can perform the project, VA will set aside the underlying solicitation per 38 U.S.C. §8127.� Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this Sources Sought Synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published on SAM, and/or GSA eBuy. Responses to this Sources Sought Synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. General Requirements: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VA Loma Linda Healthcare System, has a need for Esophageal Instrument Sets and accessories. The Esophagoscopes and accessories will be used for transoral surgeries, diagnostic procedures, including collections of specimens for diagnostic analysis. The Salient Characteristics must include: Must have Integrated Light Carrier that is fully incorporated into the textured handle with built-in protection Esophagoscope must have a barrel and tip that follow ergonomic features of smooth insertion technology that facilitates gentle insertion while maintaining standard technique. Must provide nearly full lumen view with constant cool illumination. Will have a Large Fiber Bundle: for Enhanced distal illumination. Must have Aspiration Channel on the exterior for maximum lumen clearance. Must have Oval Fiber Optic Light Carrier for more viewing and instrumentation space in the main tube. Must also provide bright illumination. Must have a Smooth Distal Tip for ease of insertion. Must provide a 15 mm Proximal End designed for easy attachment of accessories. Esophagoscopy instruments in the set must be capable of extracting sharp or large objects (e.g., bones, cones, dentures) and manage food impactions. Esophagoscopes must be able to visualize the back of the throat , including the difficult to reach hypopharynx and upper esophageal sphincter Must be able to obtain deep, accurate biopsies of the esophageal tumors or lesions Must be made of the highest quality of sources stainless steel materials Will be capable of dilation and treatment of strictures as well as widening of narrowed areas of the esophagus or placing indwelling tubes Must have a barrel: a hollow metallic tube, typically 33-43cm long with a beveled tip Must have a multifunctional head Must have a functional head attached to the proximal end and features several side ports for connecting ventilation and light Esophagoscopes must provide High-resolution Imaging, advanced lighting, protective integration, and ergonomic design, ensuring efficient and safe procedures.
