Description

This is a notice of intent to solicit and award a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), only one source being available to meet the Government s needs. The contract will be for a one (1) year base period, and four (4) one (1) year option periods. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to solicit and award a sole source contract for a full-service contract that includes repairs, corrective and preventative maintenance and replacement of original equipment manufacturer parts for two (2) each Alcon Vision, LLC s Constellation LXT vitrectomy units to Alcon Vision, LLC, 6201 South FWY, Fort Worth, Texas 76134. There are no other sources of supply/service that will satisfy agency requirements. The Constellation LXT vitrectomy units are in use at the VA Northern California Health Care System, 10535 Hospital Way, Mather, CA 95655. Alcon Vision, LLC is the only source that can perform repairs/maintenance to the vitrectomy units due to the proprietary nature of this equipment, no other company was found that has authorized third-party service providers. NAICS Code for this requirement is 811210 with a small business size standard of $34M. No formal solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, prospective contractors who believe they can successfully quote must provide specific detailed technical documentation to support such claims of abilities. The Government will review any submittals received in response to this notice prior to 3:30 pm Pacific Time on October 24, 2025. All documentation must be submitted via email. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred in the preparation of responses to this announcement. This is the only notice that will be issued for these items. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
