Description

In accordance with Section 3.2.2.4 of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Acquisition Management System (AMS), the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis for the FAA�s decision to contract on a single source basis to NDT Solutions, LLC. The FAA has a requirement for an Automated Ultrasonic Scanning System (AUSS) Mobile and operation training in support of ongoing research and testing efforts at William J. Hughes Technical Center located in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The AUSS Mobile System will be used to replace the Mobile Automated System (MAUS) currently in use by the FAA. The AUSS Mobile System is the next generation of Boeing�s MAUS unit which has reached end of life. This upgraded system is a direct modernized replacement which offers data compatibility with the previous unit along with modern upgrades such as faster processing speeds, higher quality scanning and imaging, digitalization, and additional data-analysis capabilities. The Boeing Company (Boeing) is the original developer and retains exclusive ownership of all intellectual property of the AUSS Mobile System. Boeing has one licensed provider within the United States: NDT Solutions, LLC. NDT Solutions, LLC is authorized to manufacture and distribute the AUSS Mobile product line of mobile Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) equipment. This announcement is for informational purposes only. Competitive solicitation is not available for this procurement. The FAA is not liable for any costs associated with the preparation of a response to this announcement.
