Description

6/8/2026 - Question: Can you please verify what changes or updates have been made to the SOW, as the description has not changed and no new documents have been added? I look forward to the update. Thank you Answer: There is no change to the SOW, a clarification on the Q&A section where it was stated the government expected stainless steel doors. That specification has been removed and stainless steel doors are not the only acceptable type. Steel doors with weather proof coating is the requirement. As per the SOW, 3.e exterior grade hollow metal doors are to be provided giving mention to consideration for exterior use and corrosion resistance but does not provide clear specification on the desired product. Does the government intend to receive grade 316 stainless steel doors, marine-grade powder coated doors, aluminum doors, or galvanized/zinc-coated steel doors? Answer: 316 stainless steel coated for weather. In coordination with the previous question, is it desired for all hardware to be 316 stainless steel where applicable to resist corrosion? Answer: Yes As per SOW, 3.f it is requested to provide new push-button door locks handles at all 10 door locations. It was noted at the site visit that this is desired only at two (2) locations. Can you please confirm if all doors shall receive the Kaba Simplex Series locks or only the two? Answer: Two push button style locks If only the two locks, can you please confirm all others should be a lever lockset with BEST 7-Pin cylinders to match existing? Answer: All other will be lever lock 7-pin to match what is existing Should locksets be mortised lockset or cylindrical? Answer: Cylindrical Does the government wish to have the northern door at the UPH housing with a lever lockset or blank plate as requested at the site visit? Answer: Blank back plate. Door is exit only As per SOW, 3.i, no fire rating was provided for the various doors, does the glazing require a 45-minute fire rating? Answer: no It was noted at the site visit that State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) approvals were required for this project, will any documentation or coordination with SHPO be required from the contractor? Answer: Proposed materials and doors will be reviewed for compliance with SHIPO. During the site visit it was specified that all doors require to be similar or match what is being replaced. What will be the limitations of repair around the doors? Answer: It was noted at the site visit there are existing conditions presenting with considerable damage to walls, floors, and surrounds. Clean professional finish. Some require drywall repairs around the frames. Wall finish(paint) is required. Corner to corner of wall. Will limitations be only to that which is damaged by the replacement of the door? Answer: All doors and finishes are required within reason for the project. The SOW currently provides a 90-day performance period from the notice to proceed. Dependent upon the RFI for the type of doors desired, lead times could by themselves exceed this period of performance timeline. Can the POP be extended to allow for material lead times? Answer: I am unable to answer this question as I am not on that level in this process. Is there currently existing attic stock for the new exterior siding installed for use in repairs around the doors that would be available for use? Answer: The unit does have spare siding. Unit does not have the trim Provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to remove and replace all ten (10) existing exterior doors and frames on the UPH and Main Buildings at USCG Station Atlantic City.
