Description

11/16/25: Revised to extend final response date to allow more time to prepare requested information. All other details remain unchanged. This is a request for information from qualified vendors regarding the feasibility, recommended approach, rough order magnitude, lead time, and any risks associated with modifying 1,176 existing dunnage bars by reducing their overall length in accordance with the attached document. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information, for planning purposes, to inform a possible future procurement or contract. Additionally, vendors are requested to provide separate information and feasibility assessments comparing the modification using: The existing wood components retained, versus New replacement wood components installed during the modification This notice does not solicit proposals. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the government to form a binding contract. Additionally, the U.S. Government will not provide reimbursement for any information that may be submitted in response to this market research. Respondents are solely responsible for all expenses with responding to this this market research. Responding to this market research will neither increase nor decrease an information provider's likelihood of being awarded any contract in the future for the requisite services. The acquisition strategy for the procurement has not been determined at this time; however, either an unrestricted competition or a set-aside may be determined in part on the responses to the market survey. Responses should not only state a vendor is capable, but also include requested information as described in the attachment. Interested persons should provide the requested information to Melissa Reams via e-mail at melissa.reams@dot.gov, by November 14, 2025.
