Description
GENERAL The purpose of this project is to trim trees quarterly, removing shrubs, grass, and other vegetation, or obstructions surrounding the UPP VOR antenna to prevent interference of the radiated signal from the antenna. The tree coverage is mostly made up of tall Ironwood up to 60 feet tall. The terrain is on the mountain top and the trimmed areas are very steep which requires extra efforts to get to. NOTE: The contractor must be aware about the Hawaiian Hawks habitat close to the UPP VOR site. The work should not be scheduled during the mating period � August-September time frame. PROJECT DESCRIPTIONS The contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, material, equipment, transportation, and other services needed to perform all tasks under this contract. The scope of work includes but not limited to the following items: Cut/trim/ and mulch shrubs, trees, grass, and other vegetation up to 350� feet radius centered on the VOR antennas and rotate as necessary 365 deg. radius around VOR antenna, As shown on the Appendix A (Google map). All vegetation on entire counterpoise must be mowed and/or poison. All trees, shrubs, and vegetation located below the counterpoise within this area will be trimmed and shorten at least six (6) feet below the surface area (elevation 1765) of the antenna counter poise (below the antenna line of sight. All trees and vegetation within this area and FAA property will be cut down, chipped and spread within FAA property. Vegetation/grass will be mowed for ease in maintenance. Trees outside of FAA property must be topped at least six (6) feet below the surface area (elevation 1756) of antenna counter poise (below the antenna line of sight) and removed. Please refer to the attached Scopes of Work (SOW) and Appendix/Appendices in Section J of the solicitation for full details NOTE: The Contracting Officer's physical office is in the FAA Seattle Regional Office in Des Moines, WA.
