Description
The National Defense Reserve Fleet (NDRF) relies on the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Nautical System Enterprise (NSE), a client-server, MySQL-based database application. NSE serves as the official maintenance management and financial tracking system for the Ready Reserve Force (RRF) program. To support budgeting and contractor oversight, MARAD developed a custom reporting solutionthe Ship Manager Reporting Toolwhich extracts and organizes data from NSE for use in the RRF budget cycle and the development of the programs five-year budget request. The Ship Manager Reporting Tool currently provides 20 custom reports used by MARAD for contract oversight, maintenance management, business planning, and execution monitoring. Ship Managers use these reports to build business plans, plan and track drydock activities, and monitor the execution of business plans throughout the current fiscal year.
