Description
This project will consist of construction on a new baseball stadium at Erdle Field, at The USAF Academy, to create a functional and accessible modern stadium to meet NCAA baseball stadium requirements associated with intercollegiate operations. The existing Press Box and Dugouts will be eliminated to build new concrete grandstands, press box, restrooms, concessions, dugouts, and home team facilities. The home team facilities include a new locker room, showers and restroom for the USAFA baseball team, a replay booth, and a lounge space, a new locker room for the USAFA baseball coaching staff with showers and restrooms, a satellite sports medicine training room, and an equipment mud room attached to the first base dugout. Construction will consist of concrete slab on grade and seat risers on grade, concrete retaining walls, structural steel framing with steel roof deck, exterior masonry load-bearing walls, concrete foundations, and concrete columns and roof structures. Scope also includes demolition of the 1,000 SF press box and dugouts. Total building area to be reconstructed is about 10,000 SF. Limited work will be done on the existing baseball field. Construction of a new access road entering the site from the east roadway will provide maintenance and emergency vehicle access to playing field level. Please see the attached document for full details.
