Description
Requirements Background: The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) Synaptic Physiology Section (SPS) needs a pulsed 920 nm laser for studying neural processing in the retina. The program area cannot use visible lasers for experiments because they activate the retinal photoreceptors directly. The current preexisting LSM 510 only has visible lasers, but has an access port for piping in a pulsed infrared laser. The program area needs to be able to scan for neural activity with the pulsed IR laser while stimulating the retina with visible movies projected through microscopes condenser. Special Order Requirements: The following product features/characteristics are required: Pulses ?100 fs Integrated beam chirper Integrated AOM Peak power: ~1.5 mW Variable repetition rate Single wavelength pulsed infrared laser, 920 nm 1 laser delivered and installed Training: The contractor shall provide any standard installation support and software con?guration assistance necessary to ensure successful implementation of the hardware. Additional training, if required, shall be coordinated with the NINDS SPS.
