Description
The purpose of this Request For Interest (RFI) is to seek information and formal statements of interest from public and private entities to partner with NASA for the development of land to support a self-contained multi-use, multi-tenant technology park located at the Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) in New Orleans, LA. MAF is located on 830 acres of U.S. Government-owned land. MAF is home to more than 24 Federal, State, Academic and Commercial tenants with a growing workforce of approximately 2,600 people. The center is managed by NASA via the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) under a Federal City model and serves as the Agencys primary manufacturing hub for both Government and commercial customers. MAF recently completed an assessment to determine the most readily developable land for a technology park targeting approximately 45 acres within the MAF campus. These 45 acres, named Discovery Park, is located on the northern edge of the campus to allow options for developable sites both inside and outside the security perimeter. NASA seeks interest from industry to develop the 45-acre Discovery Park in whole or in part. This interest should be from qualified firms in leading to long-term operation of Discovery Park, which NASA has established to enable and grow private sector participation in space exploration, support commercial space transportation, promote commercial development of technologies for application in space and on earth, and support the missions of tenants located at MAF. Although the primary focus will be on the 45-acre Discovery Park, NASA will also consider interest in other areas on MAF for development. KEY DATES INTENT TO ATTEND INDUSTRY DAY - FEBRUARY 13, 2026 INDUSTRY DAY FEBRUARY 26, 2026 RFI CLOSING DATE MARCH 16M 2026 ANY QUESTIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED PRIOR TO THE RFI CLOSING DATE
