Description

Heise-Roberts Right Bank Upper System Damage Site # 1 ? This site is located on the right bank levee system approximately 1 mile upstream of Lorenzo Bridge. At this levee segment, the river is eroding the streambank to the point of encroaching on the toe of the levee. This levee segment is not armored with riprap. The levee needs riprap revetment to protect the toe and slope of the levee prior to the next flood event. Excavating down approximately 8? to the toe of the levee and armoring the levee with riprap on the riverside side of the levee is necessary to protect the levee from eroding. This site is approximately 600 linear feet in length.Heise-Roberts Right Bank Upper System Damage Site # 2 ? This site is located on the right bank levee near Lorenzo Bridge. At this levee segment the large, dumped stone upstream of the railroad bridge abutment has been undercut and washed downstream. Additional riprap is needed to key in the remaining riprap and protect the toe of the levee and areas of erosion on the slope of the levee. This site is approximately 600 linear feet in length.Heise-Roberts Right Bank Lower System Damage Site # 3 ? This site is located on the right bank levee system near Roberts Bridge. This site has experienced erosion at the toe of slope, and the riprap has slid down the slope of the levee, leaving the upper levee exposed to erosion. Riprap revetment would need to be keyed in with existing riprap to protect the upper part of the levee and existing riprap needs to be keyed in to create a stable toe. This site is approximately 300 linear feet in length.Heise-Roberts Left Bank Levee System Damage Site # 4 - This site is located on the left bank levee system, approximately 1.5 miles downstream of Lorenzo Bridge. This site is at an impingement point that eroded a large amount of riverbank that was repaired during a flood fight. A Riprap toe bench needs to be placed and keyed in with the existing slope riprap revetment placed during previous flood fight conditions. This site is approximately 600 linear feet in length.
