SOURCES SOUGHT: THIS IS ONLY A MARKET SURVEY FOR WRITTEN INFORMATION ONLY. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS ANNOUCEMENT. The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is seeking interested vendors with successful past performance, current relevant experience, personnel/resources, equipment, and capability to provide shipbreaking services to dispose of up to 160� Inland Construction Tenders located between St. Louis, Missouri and Mobile, Alabama that have been deemed excess by the USCG. Please respond to the following questions: (1) Is your firm a large or small business? (2) If small, does your firm qualify as a small, emergent business, or a small, disadvantaged business? (3) If disadvantaged, specify under which disadvantaged group and is your firm certified under Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act? (4) Is your firm a certified "Hub Zone" firm? (5) Is your firm a woman-owned or operated business? (6) Is your firm a certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned? (7) Are you services listed on a GSA schedule? If so, which one(s)? (8) Do you own or have access to facilities between St. Louis, Missouri and Mobile, Alabama or near vicinity capable of scrapping a 160� (WLIC) Inland Construction Tenders and if so, have you scrapped vessels in past? If so, were the vessels from other government agencies, commercial customers or both? For government agencies, provide agency name, POCs and contract number. For all vessels, provide descriptions (displacement, length, hull materials, etc.). (9) If you do not own or have access to a facility with the capability to scrap a 160� (WLIC) Inland Construction Tenders between St. Louis, Missouri and Mobile, Alabama vicinity, where is it located and how do you intend on getting the vessel to your facility? A draft shipbreaking specification is included in this Sources Sought Notice. The Government requests review of and feedback on this document in addition to answers to the above questions. After the review of the responses to this sources sought announcement, and if the Government still plans to proceed with the requirement, a solicitation announcement will be published under Contract Opportunities on the SAM.gov website. Responses to this sources sought notice are not considered an adequate response to any future solicitation announcement. All interested firms will have to respond to the solicitation in addition to responding to this sources sought synopsis. Firms responding to this announcement that fail to provide all of the required information cannot be used to help the Government make the appropriate contract decisions which is the intent of this sources sought notice. This notice is to help the USCG in determining potential sources only. All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request to be considered for a contract award. All interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. Responses to this sources sought notice are NOT a request to be added to a prospective offers list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. Reimbursement will not be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement and any follow-up information requests.
