Under FD&I, the Coast Guard Research and Development Center serves as the execution agent for research, modeling & simulation, technology forecasting, and field experimentation. This Request for Information (RFI) is part of an effort by the United States Coast Guard (USCG) to determine the technical capability of organizations that perform fire testing on lithiumion (Li-ion) batteries. The data and information gathered from this testing will be used by the U.S. Coast Guard to enhance maritime safety through personnel protection, vessel design, and fire suppression system performance. The correct submission email is smb-comdt-coco31acquisitions@uscg.mil. Responses shall be emailed to both smb-comdt-coco31acquisitions@uscg.mil and to smb-rdc-dss+1046@uscg.mil.
