Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District intends to solicit and award a contract to perform renovation work on Building 44 at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The following is a Sources Sought Notice. This Sources Sought announcement is for market research information only and is to be used for preliminary planning purposes and for determining the acquisition approach. No proposals are being requested and none will be accepted in response to this notice. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS NOTICE. The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of industry standards, interest and capabilities of firms to perform a firm fixed price design-bid-build (D-B-B) construction contract of this magnitude and to determine if there is adequate competition. This effort is classified through the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) under 236220 Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. ($45M Small Business size standard). The magnitude of this project is between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000. The US Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District (USACE) is seeking contractors to provide a whole building renovation of historic administrative building with associated historic restoration for certain aspects of the building. Building is approximately 15,000 square feet in size. All systems will be replaced: mechanical; electrical; communications; security; fire and life safety. Architectural revisions to improve layout and update interiors. Some minor structural repairs are required. A new elevator will be installed. Asbestos abatement will be required; lead paint is present. Ancillary site work such as sidewalks, new accessible ramp, and utilities is included. Building 44 is a contributing structure to the Fort Leavenworth National Landmark Historic District; all work will be done in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior Standards for Historic Preservation.
