Description

Sources Sought Notice 2025-SPRDL126R0006 Item Name: Clutch, Fan, Engine NSN: 2930-01-168-7870 Part No: (N/A) 12339407/ 19207 Min Quantity: 5772 EA Max Quantity: up to 11544 EA End Item: The Fan Clutch, Engine, is used on all versions of the HMMWV, including the basic, A1 & A2 models. The Government does not have rights to the Technical Data Package (TDP) or specifications. A device designed to deliver variable fan speeds to the engine pulley ratios responsive to the cooling demands of the engine. May include hub, mounting device, thermal air valve and the like. Engine fan clutches are components of the engine cooling system in non-aircraft vehicles. They belong to the supply class of Engine Cooling System Components, Nonaircraft, which is part of the supply group Engine Accessories. The engine fan clutch is responsible for controlling the operation of the engine cooling fan. It is typically located between the engine and the fan and is connected to the fan blades. The main purpose of the fan clutch is to regulate the speed of the cooling fan based on the engine's temperature. When the engine is running at normal operating temperatures, the fan clutch allows the fan to rotate freely, resulting in minimal resistance and noise. This helps improve fuel efficiency and reduces unnecessary wear on the fan and other components.
