Description

Oklahoma City Veterans Affairs Health Care System ASTM307 Bolt Replacement Survey I. GENERAL: This project is to survey and identify locations of ASTM 307 bolts and develop a replacement plan to replace the bolts with the required ASTM A193 at the OKC VA HCS at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The contractor is fully responsible for verifying and validating all information contained within this statement of work. Contractor must fully evaluate the condition of the existing structures and verify the current condition of the project site. All measurements/quantities provided in this document are approximate and are to be used for reference only. The contractor will be responsible for taking on-site measurements and verifying all quantities and distances. All materials/fasteners/etc. must be new and provided by the contractor unless otherwise specified. The contractor shall abide by all Safety, Security and Infection Control Policies and Procedures of the Oklahoma City VA HCS. VA facilities are tobacco free. No smoking is permitted on VA property. The contractor is responsible for their subcontractor s compliance with this policy. All work must conform to, and comply with, the latest edition/version of ALL applicable VA, federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations, codes, and standards. II. JUSTIFICATION: Per VHA directive, All VAMCs must complete a survey of their existing steam and hot water piping systems and develop a replacement plan, prioritizing high and medium pressure steam and hot water piping systems operating at over 50 pounds per square inch. If ASTM A307 bolts (all grades) are identified, an Interim Safety Measure must be developed to ensure the safety of staff and the facility until replacement is complete. III. STATEMENT OF WORK: The contractor shall provide supervision, manpower, and materials to provide a replacement plan to replace ASTM A307 bolts currently installed in the facility to the required ASATM A193 bolts as the appropriate fastener for steam and hot water piping. Contractor shall locate and document all ASTM 307 bolts that are installed on high and medium pressure steam and hot water piping Areas to inspect include: 73 Air handling units, Penthouse 8th floor mechanical room, BF118 Mechanical Room, Emergency Room Mechanical Room, Research building Mechanical Room, Sub-basement Mechanical Room, 1st floor Mechanical Room, 2nd floor Mechanical Room, 3rd floor Mechanical Room, 5th floor Mechanical Room and Central Boiler Plant. Contractor to cut and remove insulation from flanges that are covering the bolts Contractor shall prioritize replacement plan from high and medium pressure steam and hot water piping systems operating over 50 pounds per square inch. Contractor shall provide report consisting of locations of ASTM 307 bolts with quantities at each equipment IMPORTANTR NOTE: This RFI (Request for Information) is for information only.
