Description
Sources Sought Notice: SPRDL1-26-R-0012 Item Name: Cylinder Assembly, Actuating, Linear NSN: 3040-01-207-6375 Manufacturer Part Number: Grove, U.S., LLC (CAGE: 12361) P/N 6-372-002210 Quantity: 39 (with 100% Option) End Item: M984 Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT) Response Date: 30 October 2025 Requirements Description: The Linear Actuating Cylinder Assembly is commonly referred to as a hydraulic cylinder. Its a device that converts fluid pressure to linear force and motion. Pressure from the vehicle hydraulic compressor moves through hoses to the actuating cylinder. The pressure is used to control the cylinder, to extend or retract it. The Actuating Cylinder Assembly is part of an outrigger leg mounted on M984 HEMTT Tow Truck. The outrigger leg provides vehicle stability when its hydraulic crane is in operation; there are 2 at the rear of the vehicle. The crane is used to recover vehicles, lift and lower materials and to move them horizontally. The actuating cylinder for the outrigger leg raises and lowers the outrigger, which contacts the ground. The outrigger is forced against the ground, often lifting the vehicle, and the weight of the vehicle at the contact foot of each leg is what provides stability.
