Description
The Department of Energy (DOE) is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) only and will not accept any proposals at this time. If the vendors wish to do so, they may submit a capabilities statement along with the RFI. This RFI is for the services to restore and enhance the functionality, safety, and appearance of the asphalt parking areas and address stormwater drainage issues at Building 1916-T2, located at 230 Warehouse Road, Oak Ridge, Tennessee 37830. The overall goal for this project is to achieve a restored and re-sealed asphalt parking lot with clearly marked parking spaces, functional stormwater drainage, and specific structural repairs, all executed in accordance with prevailing industry standards, applicable codes, and DOE requirements. The main reqirements for this project are listed below: Item 1: Achieve Durable Asphalt Surface Restoration. Performance Standard: The contractor shall thoroughly prepare all asphalt surfaces, remove vegetation, seal cracks, patch areas as specified, and apply two layers of asphalt sealer to all designated areas, including the asphalt ramp, to create a durable, sealed surface. Item 2: Implement Clear and Compliant Parking Lot Markings. Performance Standard: The contractor shall re-stripe all parking spaces in white, no-parking hatched areas in yellow, paint handicap symbols, and add "COMPACT" lettering as indicated on the provided drawings. Item 3: Ensure Effective Stormwater Drainage Functionality. Performance Standard: The contractor shall remove concrete for new concrete placement and compact gravel/broken pavement as necessary to restore and enhance stormwater drainage along the Warehouse Road side of Building 1916-T2. Item 4: Complete Specific Structural and Accessory Repairs. Performance Standard: The contractor shall replace the damaged awning column at Bay 3's handicap ramp and install three parking bumper wheel stops at the indicated spaces near Bay 3's handicap ramp.
