Description
THIS IS A PRESOLICITATION NOTICE ONLY; THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION This presolicitation notice is issued solely for informational and planning purposes. The Government is not obliged to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of the synopsis. It does not constitute a solicitation for bid or quotes, and should not be constructed as a commitment by the Government. The Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PHNSY & IMF) intends to solicit and negotiate a sole source, firm fixed price contract under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) and in accordance with FAR 6.301-2(a)(2). The Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility intends to solicit to Hawthorne CAT Hawaii to provide installation and technical assistance of a Diesel Engine Caterpillar Model 3512B Wire Harness onboard a Virginia-Class submarine. In accordance with DFARS PGI 206.302-1, a sources sought notice, N32253-26-Q-0018 was posted to the Government Point of Entry (GPE), SAM.gov from 26 March 2026 to 30 March 2026 to satisfy this requirement. The Government received two responses from industry indicating interest in the requirement, but a capability statement was not provided. This pre-solicitation notice does not constitute as a request for quotes. Submission of any information in response to this notice is purely voluntary and the Government does not assume financial responsibility for any costs incurred. This posting serves as a pre-solicitation notice in association with N32253-26-Q-0018, in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.204. A solicitation notice will be posted on or about 3 April 2026.
