Description

The procurement is for the VA San Francisco Health Care System � Oakland CBOC Eye Clinic, which is requesting to procure the Iridex CYCLO?G6 Laser System and OEM accessories to support glaucoma treatment using MicroPulse Cyclophotocoagulation. The Iridex CYCLO?G6 is brand?name OEM technology that provides proprietary MicroPulse laser delivery, OEM?specific probe compatibility, FDA?cleared therapeutic parameters, and integration with existing VA ophthalmic workflow required by the VA. This action is for supplies/services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106?1(b)(1)(i) and 41 USC �1901, where only one source is reasonably available. Only one vendor is capable of responding due to the unique or specialized nature of the requirement. It is the Government�s belief that the proposed contractor is the only provider capable of supplying the Iridex CYCLO?G6 system with all required components, compatibility, and OEM specifications necessary to meet the agency�s needs. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 339112 (1,000 employees) and the Product Service Code (PSC) is 6540. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotes. Telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any business that believes it can provide the required brand?name items or equal may submit a written capability statement to Janetra.Johnson@va.gov and Edward.Hunter@va.gov. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the stated requirements. Responses will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. THIS NOTICE DOES NOT COMMIT THE GOVERNMENT TO CONTRACT FOR ANY SUPPLY OR SERVICE. THE GOVERNMENT WILL NOT PAY FOR ANY INFORMATION OR ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS INCURRED IN RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE.
