Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. The Government intends to solicit and award a sole source purchase order for the procurement of 3D Printer repair services on Joint Base Charleston - Air Base (JB CHS - AB) under the authority of RFO 6.103-1, �Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements�. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. This synopsis is for informational purposes only. The Reference Number is FA441826Q0054. The 628th Contracting Squadron (628 CONS) located at 101 E. Hill Blvd, Joint Base Charleston (JB CHS), SC intends to award a firm-fixed-price purchase order for repair services, including parts and labor to fix the Fortus 450MC 3D-Printer, to Stratasys, Inc. The contractor's certified technicians will perform all required repairs and updates to the Fortus 450MC 3D printer located in Building 536, Joint Base Charleston, to achieve operational status. This is a prerequisite for initiating the Emerald Service plan. Associated costs for parts and repairs identified during the Stratasys recertification are the customer's responsibility. The contractor will provide perform repairs inclusive of parts and labor in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS). Per Technical Order 34A-1-1, Para 1.3.5, "Additive Manufacturing equipment is intricate and sophisticated machinery that requires long term service contracts provided by the Original Equipment Manufacturer, or Original Equipment Manufacture approved vendor, to enable the user to receive maintenance and upkeep that is beyond the organization's capabilities." Stratasys Inc., the manufacturer of the Fortus 450MC 3D-Printer, is the only vendor authorized to perform repair services to maintain the printer and bring it back to operational status, as this authority has not been delegated to any known distributors. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, responsible sources may submit a capability statement that shall be considered by the agency. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If you submit a capability statement, you must provide verifiable proof of certification from the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Stratasys Inc., to perform repairs. Only sources that can provide this OEM certification will be considered capable of performing the work.
