Description

The Building 4 Elevator Replacement will take place at Building 4 of the Brockton VA Healthcare System Campus in Brockton, MA. The project will consist of Modernization of existing elevators; (1) passenger 3 stop elevator and (1) service 3 stop elevator and associated work necessary to support project. Elevator modernization and associated work. Work includes general construction, alterations, indicators, calls and notification systems, minor site preparation for access and staging and work to support enclosed elevator machine room in existing penthouse. Necessary removal of existing structures and construction and certain other items. The work shall include all demolition and construction necessary to execute the project as defined in the construction documents and as may be implied from the intended use. Removal of regulated building materials shall be conducted in accordance with abatement procedures as per Report (attached). All electrical work necessary for the Modernization of existing elevators must be executed by a Massachusetts licensed electrical contractor. All mechanical work necessary for the Modernization of existing elevators must be executed by a Massachusetts licensed mechanical contractor. All elevators work necessary for the Modernization of existing elevators must be executed by a Massachusetts licensed Class C11 Elevator contractor. The general contractor is responsible for ensuring all technicians involved have Certified Elevator Technicians (CETs) and contractor furnished elevator inspectors possess Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) certifications through the ANSI National Accreditation Board and National Association of Elevator Contractors (NAEC). Complete the work within 365 calendar days from the tentative NTP of May 2026. Scope considerations include coordinating with VA Facilities staff, obtaining necessary permits, scheduling work, keeping the site clean, and complying with all applicable regulations and codes. All materials and shop drawings must be approved by the COR, and work must follow Massachusetts DLS regulations and OSHA codes. The period of performance for the project is 365 Calendar Days.
