Description
HL7 membership at the Benefactor Level is mission critical and necessary to actively participate in ASTP/ONC-led standards projects. Health Level Seven International (HL7) is a not-for-profit, ANSI-accredited standards developing organization dedicated to providing a comprehensive framework and related standards for the exchange, integration, sharing, and retrieval of electronic health information that supports clinical practice and the management, delivery, and evaluation of health services. HL7 is supported by more than 1,600 members from over 50 countries, including 500+ corporate members representing healthcare providers, government stakeholders, payers, pharmaceutical companies, vendors/suppliers, and consulting firms. HL7 is uniquely positioned to engage critical industry partners to include the vendor community in developing public health information systems. HL7 can help manage implementation costs and speed time to market, learn best practices from industry, and influence the technical and policy environment of the future by voting on standards. HL7 provides standards for interoperability that improve care delivery, optimize workflow, reduce ambiguity, and enhance knowledge transfer among all of our stakeholders, including healthcare providers, government agencies, the vendor community, fellow Standards Development Organizations (SDOs) and patients. The ability to vote on HL7 standards is one of the most important benefits of membership. Benefactor membership provides maximum voting rights which allows ASTP/ONC to participate in creating standards and policies for the industry. It also allows for exclusive access to industry information which supports effective strategic decision-making. The membership also provides discounts on training and conference fees that are routinely attended by ASTP/ONC staff to keep up and stay abreast with the latest standards and technology in electronic health records. The membership provides opportunity for ASTP/ONC to leverage the expertise of HL7 and industry partners to develop implementation guidance more efficiently and effectively to meet the needs of our partners in data exchange activities. HL7 is uniquely positioned to engage critical industry partners to include the vendor community in developing public health information systems. HL7 can help manage implementation costs and speed time to market, learn best practices for industry, and influence the technical and policy environment of the future by voting on standards This is an annual membership that allows for 12 voting members.
