Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office 4, 1010 Delafield Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15215-1802, intends to award a sole source Firm-Fixed-Price Contract to Baxter Healthcare Corporation, for Hill-Rom specialty mattress rental services to provide specialized Veteran Care for the Erie VA Medical Center. This requirement entails a 5-year IDC contract ensuring Veteran care. The anticipated sole source IDC contract will include option periods. This contract action is for services for which the Government intends to negotiate with only one source under the procedures in FAR 13.5 used in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 1901. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 532490 with a business size standard of $40.0 Million. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. Responsible sources may identify their interest by submitting capability information by 5:30 P.M., EST, by Thursday, January 15, 2026, in order to establish the ability of the source to meet this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not be responsible for any costs associated with the preparation of responses to this notification.
