Description

Amendment 001 to Solicitation #36C25926Q0234 (Grease Trap Cleaning and Maintenance Services) This amendment s purpose is to list and answer the questions submitted by the questions deadline as specified in the solicitation. Questions and Answers: Are we allowed to drag hoses through the building to pump out the grease traps, or are we required to use a system such as a 55-gallon drum shop vac setup, and then pump from the drum into our truck outside? Please utilize a self-contained system within the building (a shop vac setup should be sufficient). Hoses from a truck parked outside the building, run through the building, will not be allowed. What are the detailed specifications for the decal service stickers that we must provide? Service stickers must include the following information: Company name and contact information Technician name or ID Date of last service/cleaning Next recommended service date or required service interval Do we have to wear hair nets in the kitchen? Yes. What kind of cleaner and cleaning method is required for us to scrub down our work area? Since the work areas are in the 1st and 3rd floor kitchens, cleanup after service must be to a standard that is suitable for an area where food is prepared. Debris and dirt should be removed, use a non-abrasive cleaner and an EPA-registered hospital disinfectant on the work area. Specific product recommendations will be provided after award. May we use the service elevator to perform this work or do we have to use the stairwell? The Contractor will be permitted to use the stairwell or the service elevator. However, the Contractor will not be the only entity using the service elevator during the working hours. Will we be required to hydro-jet any inlet or outlet pipes as part of this service? Please hydro jet any inlet or outlet pipes as needed during the service, if there is a visible blockage or upon VA staff request. Will we be required to perform enzyme treatments in the grease traps? Yes. During each service, please utilize an enzyme treatment that is manufacturer-approved for use with the grease trap(s). See attached O&M Manuals for manufacturer contact information.
