Description

The scope includes the transportation of shield blocks from Energy Solutions, Oak Ridge, Tennessee, to Fermilab, Batavia, Illinois, in accordance with the requirements of Fermilab, Energy Solutions, and all federal, state, and local regulations. Shield blocks shall be loaded, blocked, and braced in accordance with the Energy Solutions Loading, Blocking and Bracing Plan For Shield Block plan, Revision 0. Fermilab will offload the shielding blocks at Fermilab. Each load shall include two shield blocks. Shield Blocks are produced from reclaimed steel and their availability is dependent on source material availability and Energy Solutions� production schedule. Therefore, during periods when shield blocks are available, they are typically transported at the rate of two-to-four loads per week. Transit time expectation is 24 hours. Delivery to Fermilab, Batavia, Illinois will be accepted between the hours of 7:00 AM and 11:30 AM or 12:30 PM and 13:30 PM Central Standard Time. Preferred delivery day is Thursday however consideration for an alternate day may be made on a case-by-case basis. Drivers must have a valid driver�s license for Fermi site access and weapons are not allowed on-site. To gain access to the Energy Solutions site, any visitor that is a foreign national is required to present a current TWIC Card, current FAST Card, current Employment VISA, or current Permanent Resident Card (green card) upon each visit.
