Description
Requirements: The genotyping service will be used to analyze tail DNA samples from genetically modified mouse lines maintained by the Section on Neural Circuits at the NIAAA, NIH. Accurate genotyping is essential to determine the genetic composition of each mouse and forms the foundation for all downstream experimental analyses. Without this information, we cannot proceed with our experiments, as the validity of our data depends on the ability to quantify phenotypic differences based on genotype. Rapid turnaround is also critical, as some experiments are age-sensitive and require genotyping results within 24 hours of sample receipt. The mouse tissue samples to be processed by Transnetyx will be collected by the Lead Project Manager (LPM), and trainees in the Section on Neural Circuits at the NIAAA. SCOPE OF WORK/TASKS Tail DNA is provided using plates and labels supplied by the company. The company processes the samples to detect specific alleles designated by us, typically ranging from 1 to 8 alleles per sample. Results must be available within 24 hours of the plate's arrival. These results are emailed to us, and a record is maintained for reference. Additionally, we require that the samples be stored by the company for a minimum of six months to allow for any necessary retesting. The following tasks are required for this requirement: DNA sample receipt Genotyping of samples Emailing result PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE July 2026- July 2027
