Description

Sources Sought Notice: SPRDL1-26-R-0042 Item Name: Carrier, Gear Assembly NSN: 3010-01-570-7426 Manufacturer's Part Number: Meritor Industrial Products, LLC (CAGE: 3D6E9) P/N 320001045A01168 Quantity: 7 Option Quantity: 7 End Item: Palletized Loading System (PLS) M1074A1 and M1075A1 Response Date: 12 Feburary 2026 Requirements Description: A Carrier, Gear Assembly, or commonly known as Axle Differential Assembly, is a mechanical component designed to transfer engine power to a pair of wheels while allowing them to rotate at different speeds. When a vehicle turns, the outside wheel must travel a greater distance and therefore rotate faster than the inside wheel. The differential assembly permits the necessary speed differences and prevents excessive tire wear and drivetrain strain. The differential receives rotational input from a longitudinal driveshaft and outputs a transverse rotation to both right and left axles. This specific differential is part of the number four axle assembly, so it also has a longitudinal output that transmits rotation via a driveshaft to the number five axle. Another feature of a differential is it dictates the axles gear ratio. The Government does not have rights to the Technical Data Package (TDP) or specifications.
